Baccarat is not one of the most popular online casino games. Slots always win over baccarat. But some players still like to have a go at this classic game. If you don’t know anything about it, here are some basic pointers.
Baccarat played with a deck of cards, and you must get a hand value of 9 or as close to it as possible.
Here’s how to play:
First, choose which side you want to bet on. There are three options: the Player, the Banker, or a Tie. The Player and Banker hands are dealt by the dealer, and you simply choose which one you think will have the higher value.
Two cards are dealt to the Player and two cards to the Banker. In baccarat, face cards and 10s are worth 0 points, Aces are worth 1 point, and all other cards are worth their face value.
If either the Player or the Banker has an 8 or 9 (this is called a “natural”), the game is over and that hand wins. If neither hand has a natural, a third card may be dealt to either hand, depending on a set of rules. These rules determine whether the Player should receive a third card, or if the Banker should receive a third card, or if the hand should be a tie.
The hand closest to 9 wins, and all bets on that hand are paid out at even money (1:1). If you bet on the winning side, you’ll get your bet back plus your winnings. If you bet on a Tie, the payout is typically 8:1.
So that’s it. Baccarat is a great game if you want to enjoy betting but not get bogged down in a lot of complicated strategy. Just choose your side, sit back, and enjoy the action!
